What it costs
About NZ$1,800 to 2,600 a day, for two, all in.
I would rather you knew before we spoke. That figure is what a private journey costs per day for two people with everything included, and it is the same number I would give you on the phone.
What that looks like
- Three days, Coromandel, for two
- NZ$5,600 to 7,600
- Five days, Northland, for two
- NZ$9,400 to 12,800
- Seven days, North Island, for two
- NZ$13,200 to 18,100
- Ten days, both islands, for two
- NZ$19,600 to 26,400
- A single day, from Auckland
- NZ$980 to 1,540

Tipping
No. Tipping is not obligatory in New Zealand and nobody adds a service charge. If you would like to, $10 to $20 per person per day is generous, and do not be surprised if an older New Zealander tries to refuse it.
